[origin: WO9325261A1] A proximal end fitting for a flexible tube for medical use has at least one longitudinal channel formed in the thickness of the wall and opening onto the proximal tube end. Said fitting is designed to detachably couple one or more instruments or tubing. The fitting consists of a sleeve or collet, the sleeve (30) having a tubular insertion part which is inserted a given distance into the proximal end (24) defining upstream of the tube's proximal end part a space bordered by the sleeve. The collet (60) co-operates with the sleeve so as to grip the tube at the insertion part and close said space to form an annular chamber (50), open on said proximal end part, and into which opens the longitudinal channel (22). The annular chamber is in sealing communication with an associated outlet orifice (42) on the sleeve or collet.
