Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9400774A1] A sensor comprising alternate layers of a magnetic material (1, 1', 1") and a non-magnetic material (2, 2', 2"). One or more openings (5) extend through said layers. Two electrodes (3, 4) on opposite sides of the layered stack enable measurement of the resistivity therebetween. Said openings (5) make the sensor more sensitive in weak fields and may have various shapes. Said sensor may be used in magnetic reading heads.
