Abstract (en)
The internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder head (1), an elongate cylinder block (2), crankshaft bearings (3) beneath the cylinder block, and an oil sump (8). The cylinder block is extended downwards in the form of two down-hanging lateral skirts (4) which do not come directly into contact with the crankshaft bearings. The crankshaft bearings have bearing caps (3b) which are mechanically joined together by two parallel stiffening bars (6). The oil sump (8) is in the form of a large pan fixed, uncoupled, to two lateral flanges (2c) along the cylinder block above the down-hanging skirts. <IMAGE>

Le moteur à combustion interne comprend une culasse (1), un bloc cylindre (2) allongé, des paliers (3) de vilebrequin en dessous du bloc cylindre, et un carter d'huile (8). Le bloc cylindre se prolonge vers le bas par deux jupes latérales pendantes (4) qui n'entrent pas directement en contact avec les paliers de vilebrequin. Les paliers de vilebrequin présentent des chapeaux de paliers (3b) qui sont reliés mécaniquement les uns aux autres par deux barres de rigidification (6) parallèles. Le carter d'huile (8) est sous forme d'une grande cuvette fixée, découplée, sur deux brides latérales (2c) le long du bloc cylindre au dessus des jupes pendantes. <IMAGE>
