Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0340843A1] This system comprises, on the one hand, a transmitter device (1) provided with a picture-taking member (2) provided in order to supply N complete picture items per unit time, with a first extraction member (5) for extracting transmission items from complete picture items with a view to transmitting them via the said transmission channel, and, on the other hand, at least one receiver device (10) provided with a reconstruction member (14) for supplying picture items reconstructed from the transmission items. The extraction member (5) is designed to extract one picture out of N pictures supplied by the picture-taking member (2), whereas the reconstruction member (14) is built up from a temporal interpolation member for interpolating the N-1 non-transmitted pictures from the transmitted pictures.
