[origin: US5511712A] Damage to rotating cylinders in a web-fed rotary printing machine, due to breaks or tears in the material web passing through the machine, is prevented by providing a web guide roller with a directionally switched coupling intermediate two spaced gripping locations. If the web breaks, the web guide roller becomes positively driven and prevents web roll up on one of the rotating cylinders.

Eine Einrichtung zum Verhindern von Schäden an rotierenden Produktionseinheiten (7,8;4,6) durch gerissene Warenbahnen, sieht eine richtungsschaltende Kupplung (24) vor, die zeitweise einen Antrieb mit einer Bahnleitwalze (9) verbindet. Diese Bahnleitwalze (9) gewährleistet einen sicheren Transport der Warenbahn (1), bis die rotierenden Produktionseinheiten (7,8;4,6) stillstehen. <IMAGE>
