[origin: US5438924A] A rotogravure inking system utilizes an inking roller mounted in an ink trough and engageable with a printing cylinder. The inking roller exerts a pressure force on the printing cylinder through the use of torsion bars which are located wholly within the ink trough. A prestress can be applied to the torsion bars to impart the desired pressure force to the printing cylinder from the inking roller.
