In the case of a mould for the continuous casting of steel strip, with broad side walls (2, 102, 202) and narrow side walls (3), the broad side walls having a funnel-shaped entry region (4) which is reduced towards the narrow sides and in the casting direction to the dimensions of the cast strip, and the narrow side walls, which are arranged adjustably between the broad side walls, lying parallel opposite to one another, the thickness of the strand can be changed with the mould closed, and the strand withdrawn from the mould without deforming the narrow-side area if the broad side walls in the funnel-shaped entry region are designed as convex circular arcs (6) and, to the side of the funnel-shaped entry region, have oblique surfaces (7) which approach one another towards the outside in the direction of the narrow sides. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Kokille zum Stranggießen von Stahlband, mit Breitseitenwänden (2,102,202) und Schmalseitenwänden (3), wobei die Breitseitenwände einen trichterförmigen Eingießbereich (4) aufweisen, der zu den Schmalseiten sowie in Gießrichtung auf das Format des gegossenen Bandes reduziert ist, und die zwischen den Breitseitenwänden verstellbar angeordneten Schmalseitenwände einander parallel gegenüberliegen, kann bei geschlossener Kokille die Dicke des Stranges verändert und der Strang ohne Verformungen des Schmalseitenbereichs aus der Kokille ausgezogen werden, wenn die Breitseitenwände im trichterförmigen Eingießbereich als konvexer Kreisbogenabschnitt (6) und seitlich des trichterförmigen Eingießbereichs mit sich nach außen, zu den Schmalseiten hin einander annähernden Schrägflächen (7) ausgebildet sind. <IMAGE>
