[origin: WO9405483A1] There is described a method and a machine for laminating a decorative layer to the surface of a three-dimensional object (31) in a membrane press by use of pressure-difference in two chambers (38, 43) acting on the membrane, in which as membrane there is used a laminate (10) comprising a carrier film as well as at least one decorative lacquer layer and a heat-activateable adhesive layer laminate to the carrier film. The machine is adapted for use of the laminate (10) instead of a membrane by using a supporting plate (14) which is cooled as well as by provision of feeding means (11, 12, 13) for the laminate and radiation heating means (4a, 4b).
