[origin: FR2695656A1] A napping device for raising or teasling machines used for napping fabrics, knitted fabrics, non-wovens, or any other textile article. A machine for napping fabrics comprising at least one napping device according to the invention is also disclosed. The napping device has two rotary rolls (2a, 2b) fixed to a support (3) so that their axes of rotation (2'a, 2'b) are parallel, and a sleeve (4) covered externally with a card clothing (6) and fitted around the two rolls. In a specific embodiment, the napping device is of the teasle type. In this case, the two rolls (2a, 2b) are free to rotate, and the teeth (7) of the card clothing (6) are oriented parallel to the direction of the axes of rotation (2'a, 2'b) of said rolls (2a, 2b).
