[origin: EP0661213A1] The carrier plate (1) has a support plate (3) and a stop (4), between which a stack (2) of labels rests on the carrier plate (1). The carrier plate (1) is pivotable towards the suction drum (11). The suction drum (11) is driven by a stepping motor (13). Arranged in the suction drum (11) is the support (14), in the interior of which a suction draught can be applied. Blowing nozzles (30) are arranged near the suction drum (11). To remove a label, the air-passage holes of the suction drum (11) are aligned with the corresponding row of outlet holes (15) of the support (14). The carrier plate (1) is lowered towards the stationary suction drum (11), so that the lowest label is sucked onto the suction drum (11). The carrier plate (1) thereafter pivots upwards and an air jet is blown out of the blowing nozzles (30) between the sucked-up label and the remaining stack (2), in order to assist the separation. The suction drum (11) thereupon rotates in order to transport away the label now detached completely from the stack (2). The various successive work steps are controlled by a sequential control unit (29). <IMAGE>
