A battery-operated electrical unit is proposed having an input contact (4) which is protected against electrostatic discharge. The input contact (4) is either electrically conductively connected by switching means (19) to a reference contact (7) or is fitted in a depression (27) on the electrical unit (26). An electrically conductive connection is formed between a mating connection (11) of a plug means (25) and the input contact (4) before the switching means (19) changes to a non-conductive state, or is not possible until the mating connection (11) is electrically conductively connected to the reference contact (7). <IMAGE>

Es wird ein batteriebetriebenes elektrisches Gerät vorgeschlagen mit einem vor elektrostatischer Entladung geschützten Eingangskontakt (4). Der Eingangskontakt (4) ist entweder mittels eines Schaltmittels (19) mit einem Bezugskontakt (7) elektrisch leitend verbunden oder in einer Vertiefung (27) am elektrischen Gerät (26) angebracht. Eine elektrisch leitende Verbindung zwischen einem Gegenanschluß (11) eines Steckmittels (25) und dem Eingangskontakt (4) wird aufgebaut, bevor das Schaltmittel (19) in einen nichtleitenden Zustand übergeht oder ist erst möglich, wenn der Gegenanschluß (11) elektrisch leitend mit dem Bezugskontakt (7) verbunden ist. <IMAGE>
