Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9406612A1] A polymeric article, for example, a vehicle component, comprises a thermoplastic coating layer, for example a paint layer or an electrically conductive layer, on a thermoplastic substrate, which may comprise recycled material. The article, which may be recyclable by melt-processing techniques, may be prepared by an in-mould coating process in which a solid thermoplastic paint or other coating material, in softened or molten form, is applied to a mould surface before, or substantially simultaneously with, introduction of thermoplastic substrate material into the mould. Thermal spraying, multiple-injection and blow moulding methods for making the articles are described.
