[origin: EP0662288A1] The buckle has one belt being secured to a lock plate (3) and the other to a tongue (2) with locking portions (25) in which spring-loaded stops (5) engage. These are released by a button (7) sliding in relation to the plate in opposition to a second spring (23). The locking portions in the tongue are formed by cutaway portions (25) open to the sides. The stops are slid by the tongue in its plane and at right angles to its movement in the locking direction, and in the opening direction via guides (18) by the button, which slides in the plane of movement of the tongue. The guides can be formed by faces in the button inclined to its direction of movement, and against which bosses (18) on the stops work.
