Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0662365A1] The foot parts of two plates (2) are ground and/or polished on alternate sides. The foot parts in a slightly axially displaced device are pressed against one another in a sprung pliable manner, executing a relative rotary movement to one another and a pendulous movement around the projecting edge areas of them. The two plates are rotated in opposite directions for grinding and in the same direction but at different speeds for polishing. Grinding and/or polishing is carried out wet or dry. The foot parts are pressed against one another with the intermediary of a sheet material, pref. an endless sheet material, such as a polishing sheet in roll form.
