[origin: WO9407667A1] A pneumatic conveyor for thick materials, such as mortar or cement, has a mixing tank (1) with a motor-driven mixing unit (2), a transport duct (24) connected to the mixing tank (1) next to its bottom, a lower air duct (14) and an upper air duct (15) which can both be charged with compressed air by means of a compressor (8, 11, 12). The upper air duct (15) opens into the upper area of the tank, whereas the lower air duct (14) opens at an injection spot into the transport duct (24). In order to make the apparatus easier to handle, to avoid operating errors and stoppers in the transport duct (24), and to reduce the actual transport time, the injection air supplied by the lower air duct (14) is turned on only when a predetermined minimum resistance is ascertained in the transport duct (24), whereas the compressed air supply to the tank (1) is blocked when a preset maximum resistance is reached in the transport duct.
