Abstract (en)
The cable car transport installation has passive vehicles (10) drawn by a tractor cable (25,26,27). The vehicle is carried by two support cables (12,13) on pulleys (18) fitted the roof of the vehicle, on either side. The roof of the vehicle is below the plane of the two cables. The distance between the roof and the cables is sufficient to allow several tractor cables to lie between the two support cables at a slightly lower level than the plane of the support cables. The tractor cables pass round return pulleys at winder stations. Different cables allow different vehicles to be drawn at differing speeds, and vehicles to be stationary while others are moving.

Une installation de transport de passagers, notamment en site urbain, comprend une voie large 11 constituée de deux câbles porteurs 12,13 à écartement sensiblement égal à la largeur du véhicule 10 roulant sur la voie en étant suspendu au-dessous à faible distance de cette voie. Des boucles de câbles tracteurs 25,26,27 s'étendent entre les deux câbles porteurs 12,13, dans l'intervalle entre le toit du véhicule et les câbles porteurs. <IMAGE>
