[origin: WO9504698A1] A flat-structure lifting platform has a lifting plate (11) supported on a base framework by a swivelling lifting arm (7). For swivelling the lifting arm (7) a connecting rod (1) and a cylinder-piston unit (5) are provided. The connecting rod (1) acts as a toggle lever and is in turn supported by connecting rods (2) on the base framework. In the retracted position of the lifting arm (7), the joint (9) between the connecting rod (1) and the lifting arm (7) is located above the point (4) at which the cylinder-piston unit (5) acts on the guide rod (1). The guide rod (1) is designed as a two-armed swivelling lever of the type of a toggle lever whose swivelling axis bolt located between the free ends of the two-armed lever is supported, so as to swivel in the vertical direction, on the base framework by means of at least one additional connecting rod (2).
