Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0665084A1] The machine has a horizontal slide movable by a drive in two opposing directions for accommodating a tool to be ground. It also has a vertical slide with a probe device fitted to the grinding spindle movable by a drive in opposing directions. The sensing device has a probe finger which is movable relatively to it and at least vertically to the horizontal slide. A component is provided which emits a path-dependent signal to control at least the drive of the horizontal slide. Remote from the sensing device is formed a lower end of the probe finger (13) acting as probe section (25) and beneath the swarf surface probe edge (37) is a swarf chamber base probe edge (28).
