[origin: EP0665317A1] The workpiece feed mechanism (2), esp. at a sewing machine (1), has a main feed (3) to move the workpiece (W) longitudinally and a further feed (5) working laterally to align the workpiece (W). The feed assembly (6) for the additional feed unit (5) has a roller-shaped rotor (8) with a number of belts (10) passing round, with a setting drive (14) for them independent of the rotor rotation, and the belt levels of the belts (10) form part of the rotor mantle. The rotor (8) axis (A) is parallel to the feed path (9).
