In direct printing on fibrous material by applying a paste contg. dye(s), a cellulose deriv. or alginate as thickener and other usual additives and then fixing the dye, the paste contains at most 5 wt.% (co)polyacrylamide (I). Also claimed are an aq. printing paste and its use in direct printing.

Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren zum Bedrucken von Fasermaterial im Direktdruck, worin man das Fasermaterial mit einer Druckpaste enthaltend mindestens einen Farbstoff, ein Cellulosederivat oder Alginat als Verdicker und weitere übliche Zusätze bedruckt, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass die Druckpaste <= 5 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Druckpaste eines Homo- oder Copolymers auf der Basis von Acrylamid enthält. Mit dem vorliegenden Verfahren lassen sich farbstarke, musterförmige Drucke auf weissem Grund mit guter Egalität, guten Echtheiten und mit scharfen Konturen herstellen. Die Druckpasten zeichnen sich durch eine gute Homogenität, gute Lagerstabilität und einfache Handhabung aus.
