Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9504828A1] Novel enzymes with a nitrile-hydratase activity, capable of catalyzing the transformation of nitriles into amides. Said enzymes are characterized by having an enzymatic activity in relation to substrates with a nitrile function and a carboxylate function greater than that relative to substrates with at least two nitrile functions. The invention also concerns a DNA sequence coding for an enzyme with a nitrile-hydratase activity capable of hydrolyzing nitriles into amides, an analogue of this sequence resulting from degenerescence of the genetic code, or a DNA sequence hybridizing with one of these sequences or a fragment of the latter and coding for an enzyme with a nitrile-hydratase activity. Finally, the invention embraces the germs capable of producing the above-mentioned enzymes.
