Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0666153A1] The saw has a feed conveyor (1) with a centring device located downstream on the conveyor. An output conveyor, on whose upstream is located a clamp device. Between the conveyors is located at least one vertical gap to guide the saw from top to bottom. The centering device of the input conveyor comprises two flaps (2) arranged on both sides of the input conveyor and pivotable towards one another around an upstream vertical rotary axis. The flaps have straight edges in a vertical direction. In the flaps is integrated a measurement device (3) which senses the height of the timber log (6) and which is connected with a control for the lopping saw. The lopping saw comprises a circular saw next to which is arranged a chain-pivot saw and the control is formed for selecting one of the saws corresp. to the measured timber log height.
