[origin: EP0666387A1] A horizontal upper supporting beam is provided for accommodation of the load. As height adjustment device, a crank is used and gear means are provided for transmission of the rotary movement of the crank in an up and down movement of the upper part of the scaffolding support. The gear means comprise a drive wheel connected with the crank (19), which meshes with a horizontal pinion arranged at right-angles to the drive wheel. The pinion is firmly connected with a casing with an inner thread. This inner thread engages in a self-blocking outer thread of a vertical spindle (17) positioned through the casing. The spindle at its upper end supports the height adjustment horizontal beam (16) of the upper part (15) of the scaffolding support.
