Abstract (en)

An image processing apparatus having a corona device (14) with charging grid (16) for charging a photoreceptor (12) to voltage levels, a memory for storing photoreceptor cycle down and rest recovery characteristics, counters for maintaining counts of current job photoreceptor cycles and cumulative photoreceptor cycles, a clock for determining the time period between the completion of a previous job and the initiation of a current job, and a corona control (28) for adjusting the corona device charging grid in response to the cycle counts, the time period between the completion of a previous job and the initiation of a current job, and the photoreceptor cycle down and rest recovery characteristics whereby the photoreceptor voltage levels are adjusted (30) during a job run to compensate for changing photoreceptor characteristics. <IMAGE>
