[origin: WO9506528A1] The description relates to a belt accumulator consisting of an outer ring of drivable carrying rollers (3) arranged radially to the vertical ring axis to accept an outer belt winder (4a) on the upper side with a belt feed (21) from outside, a concentric inner ring of freely rotatable radial carrying rollers (5) for an inner belt winder (4b) connected to the outer belt winder (4a) via a deflector loop (19) and a roller cage (6) forming a winding core for the inner belt winder (4b), one of the axially parallel rollers (10) of which guides the belt (8) in the manner of a feed roller (9) to an oblique take-off roller (7) inside the roller cage (6). To ensure the greatest independence from the dimensions and material properties of the belt (8), it is proposed that there be a deflecting roller (11) drivable at a peripheral speed corresponding to half the difference between the belt feed and take-off speeds of the accumulator between the outer and inner rings of the carrying rollers (3 and 5) and that the outer ring of the carrying rollers (5) have on the inner side a ring of oblique rollers (26) running at an angle increasing radially inwards and/or in opposition to the direction of rotation of the outer belt winder (4a) in relation to a radial direction to the ring axis.
