[origin: EP0668440A1] The engine comprises a cylinder crankcase (1) which has a common vertical joint plane (a-a) with the end bracket. The bracket sections are connected via thrust bearing screws. The end bracket is held via cylinder head screws (9,10) between the crankcase sections (5,6), to form oil channels (15-17). Cylinder heads (3,4) may be fastened to the crankcase via the same screws. The cylinder head screws are partially located in bores (30) in housing and head, which form oil passages. These have a connection channel to the oil channels in the cylinder crankcase.
