[origin: EP0668477A1] A cold chest has a frame (1) and a two-part sliding lid (2) for the upper opening. These parts are two glass panels (5, 6) in plastic surrounds, arranged in two layers, sliding on rails (13, 14). When the lids are in the closed position, the panels overlap slightly at the centre. To obtain good sealing properties, the plastic surrounds are sprayed directly onto the glass panels as well as the handles (9) and along the overlapping edges in the closed position there are sealing shoulders (23 ,24) which bear on each other. The rails are C-shaped. In a panel corner (10, 11) is a locking mechanism.
