[origin: EP0669172A1] The stand has an upper and a lower section (7,14), support rollers (2-6a,9-13a), and pairs of opposite protective plates (15,21). Upper and lower plates are each connected pivoted to the stand sections, via pivot joints (16,22) with pivot axis (16a,22a), which are parallel to the working rollers (1,8). The tips of the upper protective plates facing the working rollers have support elements (19). These retain the upper working roller, when the upper protective plates are pivoted in direction of the upper stand section. The plates are divided into outer sections, and inner sections associated with the working rollers.
