[origin: EP0669416A1] Continuous, esp. tension sensitive, textile fabric (1) is treated as it travels through a narrow passage (5), pref. between successive rollers (2, 3). The passage wall is at leat partly formed by a roller and the treatment medium is applied under pressure by a roller and the treatment medium is applied under pressure to the fabric (1) esp. in the curved regions (6) of the passage. Pref. the curved narrow passage (5) is 3 - 40 mm, pref. 5 - 10 mm wide and jets (7) are arranged to treat both sides of the fabric alteratively as it is curved over a roller. Additional rollers can dip into a liquid to give alternate liquid and steam treatments. Some of the rollers can be sieve drums with internal suction and they can have a wavy surface pattern.
