Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0669498A2] The firebox has a transparent window in its front face to allow the flames to be observed, and a lengthwise chamber (1) with a top plate (2), two vertical walls (3,4) and a bottom plate. The edge of the bottom plate is angled downwards and forms, together with a projection on the wall above it, a passage which directs air downwards over the inner surface of the transparent window. Above the air guide passage the firebox has a cylindrical damper (15) with an air intake (17) to control the rate of air flow.
