[origin: WO9509765A1] A process and device are disclosed for automatically closing transport bags, in particular paper bags for flour, fodder and the like with more than 5 kg mass. The object of the invention is to allow such bags to be automatically closed at a speed of about 1200 bags per hour in a very flexible manner as far size and weight of the bags is concerned, with a relatively simple equipment. For that purpose, the filled bags are at first spread open and vertically aligned, then clamped and provided with a double fold. Glue is applied between the folding steps and the double fold with glue is pressed between compression rollers.
