Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0671133A2] The skiboot (1) has an outer shell with a shaft (2) linked to it. The shell consists of a foot enclosing lower portion and an upper portion enclosing the shin. A device is provided to control the bending stiffness of the shaft when pivoting in relation to the shell lower portion. The upper portion of the boot has a groove in which runs a spacer. The spacer (12) can slide up and down and is linked to the bearing arm (15) of a crank (14) whose pivot axis (17) is fixed in the skiboot's (1) upper (3), and whose power arm (20) supports an operating element (22). The rectangular spacer has a pin (13) extending towards the ski boot's upper so that the crank's bearing arm is in the form of a strip containing an elongated hole (16). The power arm is in the form of a flat disc through which passes a pivot axle (21) to which the control handle (22) is linked. The pin fits into a groove (23) or cavity in the housing (18) on the upper or in the skiboot upper.
