Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0671201A2] Process for removal of SO2 and for operation of a catalytic NOx removal installation, particularly for a refuse incinerator, by using the heat energy of the smoke gases from at least one heat recovery unit in the flue duct and introduction of ammonia, or ammonia containing compounds, and novel in that the total amount of ammonia or ammonia containing compound respectively, is introduced into the smoke gas upstream of a heat exchanger, particularly before the final exchanger with the lowest temperature or before the smoke dryer, that the dust-free smoke gases are then led into a catalytic denitrification unit, so that the catalytic denitrification occurs at low temperature, particularly 100-280 deg.C.
