[origin: EP0671247A1] The cutter has a circular blade, opposite which is a rotating drum provided with a location which completely or partly covers its surface, on which the printed material locates during the cutting process. The sharply ground circular blade (6) rotates with higher peripheral speed than the transport device for the printed material (4). The circular blade with its cutting edge (7) cuts through the printed material in the location (2) of the drum (1) or extends into a groove (8) in the location on the drum.
