Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0671265A1] The sheets to be printed are fed to the printer from a stack in a holder coupled to the printer via a switchable coupling. The stack holder is connected to the printer at a low basic revolution rate (VG), whilst an element for extraction of sheets from the holder is deactivated. The revolution rate (V) of the printer is raised after connection of the stack holder to a defined higher level (VP). After the defined speed is attained, he element for extraction of sheets from the stack holder is activated, and printing starts after the first sheet has been fed into the printer.
