[origin: EP0671326A1] The method includes objects (G). Each object is associated with an enclosing element (U) which at least partly covers at least one main surface of the object and protrudes beyond it. The flow of objects and enclosing elements changes direction about a deflecting roller (1) with rotation axis perpendicular to the feed direction. This results in the objects being fed transversely to their main surfaces via a position essentially radial wrt. the deflection roller, in which the object edge beyond which the enclosure protrudes contacts the deflection roller. The object is fed past the deflection roller in a direction parallel to its main surface and tangential to the deflection roller, whereby the covered main surface is facing away from the deflection roller.
