[origin: EP0671504A1] Prodn. of foam material from waste paper etc. in any shape entails preliminary prodn. steps leading to a fluid, pref. water, based pulp from the raw material. Additives may be supplied to achieve the required characteristics of the finished product. Here, the foaming and solidification of the pulp results from the effect of microwave radiation. Pref. the required quantity paper pulp is introduced in any shape and following microwave radiation is released from its mould. This is made of microwave transparent material in the radiation area, does not couple with the radiation and does not impede the expansion of the paper pulp or the fluid vaporisation through the mould.
