[origin: WO9315609A1] A method of modulating smooth muscle cell proliferation is provided whereby smooth muscle cells are transformed with genes coding for one or more interferon polypeptides. In addition, a method of inhibiting intravascular blockages is provided. Kits and compositions thereof are also provided.
