[origin: EP0672611A2] The shelf stacking vehicle (4) for loading and unloading shelves has a drive system consisting of running wheels arranged behind one another, underneath a loading hoist (10). The hoist has a platform (6) for pallets and containers, which can elevate and lower, and can pivot about an axis. When negotiating curved paths through shelf systems, the hoist can also rotate so as to follow the direction of the shelving. The hoist can also be arranged to be coaxial to the axis of rotation (11a,11b) and/or the pivot of at least one running wheel (9a).
