Abstract (en)

A method for drying in a non-inert atmosphere products in general, such as clothing or metal, plastic or similar parts, which have been washed in a drum (3) using flammable hydrocarbon solvents, in which the drying stage is effected by creating a vacuum within the drum (3) to obtain a residual pressure which prevents the spread of air flows within the drum (3) and corresponds to a boiling temperature for the said solvent which is well below its flash point; the heat necessary to dry the said products is transmitted by contact of the products with one or more sections (18) of the drum (3), heated by means which do not interact with the said atmosphere. <IMAGE>
