[origin: EP0673747A1] The insulating profiled rod as a distance piece between two heat insulation shells, such as for windows and doors and their frames, has a reinforcement of long fibres such as of glass, carbon or metal or mixtures of them, with a fibre length of min 3 mm. The rod is produced by cold jet extrusion, with the fibre reinforcement comprising 10-45 Mass %. The thermoplastics material for the rod has a hardness of Shore D 80, according to DIN 53505, using polyamide, polypropylene or their mixtures, or polyethylene terephthalate or polybutylene terephthalate or their mixtures.
