[origin: EP0673770A1] The rotational speed of the driven dipping roller (4) supplying humidity is altered by reducing the peripheral speed of the humidity-applicator roller (3). This ensures that the supply of humidifier to the humidity applicator roller is reduced. When the peripheral speed of the humidity applicator roller is again matched with that of the printing plate (7), the rotational speed of the roller supplying the humidifier reverts to its previous amount. The supply of humidifier is reduced by reducing the rotational speed of the roller (4).
