The display element (AE) is pref. a large LCD or miniature CRT screen which may show tha amt. of a credit or debit balance. It is sited pref. to the left of a user identification device (VB) pref. reading a magnetic stripe card or fingernail. On the same horizontal line (HL) a slot (GV) is provided for receiving or dispensing banknotes in response to operation of pushbuttons (T1,T2) in accordance with instructions set out below the display element.

Die Bedieneinheit weist als Bedienelemente mindestens jeweils eine Anzeigevorrichtung (AE), eine Vorrichtung zur Benutzeridentifikation (VB), und eine Annahmevorrichtung für Werteinheiten (GV) auf. Erfindungsgemäß sind die Bedienelemente (AE,VB,GV) annähernd horizontal nebeneinander liegend angeordnet. Bevorzugt sind die Anzeigevorrichtung (AE) links liegend, die Vorrichtung zur Benutzeridentifikation (VB) mittig, und die Annahmevorrichtung für Werteinheiten (GV) rechts liegend annähernd horizontal nebeneinander angeordnet. Die erfindungsgemäße, quasi zeilenförmige Anordnung der Bedienelemente in " Leserichtung " begünstigt eine intuitive, fehlerfreie Bedienung. <IMAGE>
