[origin: WO9410201A1] The present invention relates to a monoclonal antibody which substantially binds to beta -tubulin of nematode origin and fragments thereof. There is provided a hybridoma cell line producing the monoclonal antibody of the present invention which has been deposited at the ATCC under the accession number HB 11129. The antibody of the present invention can be used as an anti-parasitic agent and a diagnostic agent for parasitic diseases. The present invention also relates to the use of an antigen, which is recognized by the monoclonal antibody, as an immunizing agent and in vaccine compositions.
