[origin: DE4411465C1] For the purpose of developing a cap rivet for a press fastener with a bar spring die which guarantees an exceptional waterproof connection to a fabric, the sealing element (10) inserted in the cap rivet (1) engages over the end face of the rivet shank (4), facing the fabric (F), with a cap-like covering (11), the sealing element (10) has, at the end face, an annular groove (12) which is coaxial with the rivet shank (4), adjoins the covering (11) and, when assembled, is flush with the annular edge (9) forming the opening (19) of the bar spring die (10), the annular groove (12) being surrounded concentrically by a moulded-on annular projection (13) as an end-face pressing surface which, when assembled, fixes and prestresses the fabric (F) in interaction with the opposite surfaces of the bar spring die (20). <IMAGE>
