Abstract (en)
An assembly to form an emulsion of oil and water is operated in conjunction with esp. a diesel fuel injection pump and incorporates: (a) a symmetrical centrifugal chamber (1); (b) a surrounding coaxial ring passage (8) into which oil or diesel fuel is introduced through an inlet (9); (c) a water inlet jet (5) positioned in the vicinity of the chamber (1) fuel inlet (9); (d) a coaxial aperture (22) linking the chamber (1) and outlet (6); and (e) a priming tube (47) to the injection pump. The novelty is that a baffle plate (10) is located in the centrifugal chamber (1) coaxially opposite the inlet jet (5). The axial distance of the baffle plate (10) to the injection jet (5) is greater than the axial distance from the inlet (9) to the injection jet (5). The distance of the baffle plate (10) to the injection jet (5) is adjustable. <IMAGE>

Dies wird mittels einer der Wassereinspritzdüse (5) koaxial gegenüberliegend angeordneten Prallfläche (10) in der Wirbelkammer (1) erreicht, auf welcher der Wassereinspritzstrahl aufprallt, zerplatzt und als hochturbulente Strömung mit radial zugemengtem Kraftstoff optimal durchmischt wird. Ferner wird vorgeschlagen, Rücklaufemulgat mittels Sogwirkung dem Emulgatstrom zuzumischen sowie bei entsprechend großem Bedarf an Emulgat, mehrere erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtungen mit einem gemeinsamen Sammelgehäuse zu verbinden. <IMAGE>
