Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0675042A1] The group of objects are supplied on a conveyor (1) to a packing station (9) where the wrapping material (4) is unwound from a reel and divided into a strip (7) forming the packet tray and a strip (8) for wrapping round the top. These two strips are supplied jointly vertically to the packing station forming a distance gap (13) corresponding to the height of the goods. The group of goods is moved across the strips and onto a discharge conveyor (2) whereby the strips loop U-shaped around the goods leaving overhangs (14,15) at the back which are separated from the incoming strips. The ends of the tray and top strips are connected together at the ends of the overhangs. The areas of the strips protruding over the base edge (16) of the packet are folded and fixed to a tray edge or tray base. <IMAGE>
