[origin: EP0675286A1] The axial piston machine has adjustable compression volumes. It has a rotating cylinder block (4) in which hydraulically actuated pistons (12) slide in axial cylinder bores (10). Two support bodies (3, 5) have bearing surfaces (25, 27), at least one of which has a recess (31.1). The recess comprises a relief groove arrangement extending at least partly into the pressure field and comprising at least one groove. Relief of the pressure field allows a throttled discharge of the fluid away from the bearing face. <IMAGE>
