Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9414623A1] The pen tip (10) proposed for a liquid-filled pen consists of a bar-shaped ceramic element with, at the end, a conically tapering point (101) with a rounded tip (101a). Behind the bar-shaped ceramic element is a first cylindrical section (102) with, behind it, a section of reduced cross-sectional area (103) followed by a second cylindrical section (104) which acts as the pen shaft. The outer surface of the first cylindrical element (102) has a number of capillary grooves (11) which run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ceramic element, extending from the tip (101a) to the section of reduced cross-sectional area (103). The capillary grooves (11) are connected to at least one liquid-feed channel in the pen and open out in the annular surface (102a) which forms the transition zone between the first cylindrical section (102) and the section of reduced cross-section (103).
