[origin: EP0676294A2] An ink jet printer has a number of printing head nozzles (3) that are supplied with ink from an exchangeable cartridge (2). The cartridge housing (15) has a rectangular form and latches (8) into the main print head body. The base of the cartridge has a spigot with an inset sealing element (19) that fits over a delivery tube (5) in the base of the printer head. The seal is produced as a fully enclosed cap with a thin wall centre section that is ruptured when the cartridge is pressed into position on the spigot. <IMAGE>
